Status: village in Vyshgorodskyi district, village council center Location: in 61 km from Vyshgorod Population: 148 people Area: 173 ha Waterways: Kiev reservoir Established in: 1577 Historical note:People lived in this area for thousands years. Around Tolokuni were found the remains of Bronze Age settlement (2 thousand years BC).Later here was allegedly Cossack Toloka, hence the name of the village. The first mention of Tolokun in historical documents belongs to 1577. In pre-revolutionary times, there lived Mr. Panyutyn.In 1942, when the village was occupied by German troops, local residents left their homes and went to live in forests, which are mary around the rural council. 98 villagers were awarded orders and medals for their courage during the WWII. Previously the village was located in another location. During the construction of the Kyev reservoir area the village was flooded, and in 1963-1965 Tolokun was rebuilt on the site of agricultural land farm. In 1987 was organized the village choir which existed over 10 years. Today in the village there are club and library, several recreation places. In Tolokun come athletes to engage in Kitesurfing, and go racing with offroad.
