                  Granite stele with the inscription "Shpolyanschina - the geographical center of Ukraine" is set at the entrance to Shpola by boldly. Point with coordinates 49 * 01 '39 "north latitude and 31 * 28' 58" east longitude in 2005 approved as a center of the decision of the State Committee of Ukraine of natural resources according to research Institute of Geodesy and Cartography. Before it was thought that the geographical center of Ukraine is located in the village Dobrovelichkivka Kirovograd region., Where also a memorial sign. According to some data, the center is located between Ukraine and Shpola Maryanovka village, where there is one more memorial sign.
