                  The city museum of local lore was opened in 1967. Its creation is associated with the names of honorary citizens of the city, veterans, teachers, and many residents who participated in filling its exhibits. In 1973, the museum received the status of folk. From 1982 to 1991 - a branch of the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore. Since 1992 - the city history and local lore museum. The museum is located on the ground floor of a multi-storey residential building of the 1930s (it was significantly destroyed during the war - reconstructed in the 1950s). Today the museum consists of seven exhibition and exhibition halls. The exposition is presented by the main sections: nature, ancient history, history of society and the city at its various stages, modernity.
