                  Annunciation Convent in Astrakhan and Astrakhan refers to Enotaevsky diocese. It was founded in the early 17th century . , And in the early 18th century . was moved into place abolished the Ascension Monastery. In 1765, instead of the wooden church of St. John the Theologian built a stone with a chapel in honor of the " Life-giving Spring ." Then the cells were built of stone for the nuns and the stone wall . In 1778 was built a stone chapel , which put an icon of St. Nicholas. Soon after the revolution in 1917 the monastery was closed . In 1928-1930. were demolished or dismantled both churches , chapel of the icon " Life-giving Spring " bell . Restoration of the monastery began in 2008 .
