                  Prince Vladimir Cathedral is unique in its architecture for the end of XIX century history as well as the destination for most of Astrakhan. The temple was constructed in honor of the 900th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia , as a monument to this significant event . After the revolutions of 1917, the temple was destroyed . During the March uprising of workers in 1919 , the church was in the midst of hostilities. For a long time the church of St. Vladimir Cathedral continued to be occupying the most important place among the remaining Orthodox churches. But in 1936 the temple was captured Renovators and closed in 1939 by the Soviet authorities , and has long been used as a warehouse . In 1967, the temple was converted under the bus station, in connection with which were painted all the images of Orthodox saints . In 1998, a commission was established to rebuild the temple of the Holy Prince Vladimir . In 1999 the church was restored Russian Orthodox Church.
