Alexander Redoubt - a monument in Rostov-on-Don, which has an interesting history. To protect the lower reaches of the Don from Turkish attacks from "the well of the Rich" began the construction of a fortress designed by engineer Captain I. Vedenev in 1760-1761 years. Military engineer AI Rigelman supervised work. The fortress was built in the form of devyatiluchevoy star. This allowed us to cover all approaches crossfire. The Edge of the rays were strong redoubts, "Don", "Catherine", "Andrew", "Trinity", "Paul", "Peter", "Elizabeth", "Anna" and "Alexander's Redoubt".
