The first time he came in the summer of 1881 to rest in Rostov-on-Don, after passing examinations. Here he met Rostovite Serafima Vassilyevna Garchakovoy, which subsequently married. The wedding was celebrated in the house number 97 on Bolshaya Garden. Second time Ivan, being assistant professor of the Military Medical Academy, came to Rostov summer 1887 with his family - his wife and son. The house in which stayed physiologist Pavlov, a small, brick floor, a total area of ​​278 square meters, cubic capacity of 825 cubic meters, corridor-type rooms with seating on both sides. The plan is a rectangle, which is adjoined by a small vestibule adjoined, wicket gates, completed attic hip roof. Interesting architectural appearance of the street facade of the house, where the window openings, the extreme of them decorated with rusticated blades and the central - profiled architraves and arched pediments. Cornice of the building crackers isolated over it are complex attics. The main entrance is crowned by a pediment street frontage. In 1949, on the facade of the house installed a plaque with the inscription: "In this house in 1881 and 1887. lived a prominent Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov. Patriot of our homeland, the creator of modern materialistic physiology." The house in which stayed physiologist Pavlov, is a historical monument of federal importance, is under state protection and is of great public interest for residents and visitors alike.
