Парк Декабристів
Парк Декабристів

At the end of the 18th century, a park with luxurious greenhouses, exotic trees, wonderful sculptures, flower beds and paths was laid around the estate of the Davydovs, the owners of Kamenka. The future Decembrists who came here at the invitation of the Davydovs, A. Pushkin, who was in southern exile, and P. Tchaikovsky, who was visiting relatives, walked along the park alleys. In the central part of the park there is a monument to the Decembrists by sculptors Vronsky and Chepelik. The content of the monument, as conceived by the authors, is a meeting in Kamenka of all the leaders of the Southern Society. The five-figure composition is depicted in dynamics, and represents the leaders of the Kamensk council Davydov and Volkonsky, the heads of the Vasilkovsky council Muravyov-Apostol and Bestuzhev-Ryumin, as well as Pestel, who read out the constitutional project of the Southern Society "Russian Truth" developed by him.
