One of the oldest botanical gardens in Ukraine. Was founded in 1839 on the hills and deep canyons. Who belongs to the University of Taras Shevchenko. In the garden in the XIX century was built the greenhouse complex for subtropical and tropical plants, and in 1977 was built Klimatron for some plant species, which has an area of 1,000 square meters and a height of about 30 meters. In 1960 the Botanical Garden named after them. acad. O.V. Fomin was declared a monument of landscape architecture of the republican significance. Since 1983 the Botanical Garden has been granted the status of a protected object of national importance.
