Bialowieza Forest is one of the largest lowland forest in Europe, surviving in a relatively undisturbed state . Its territory is divided state boundary into two parts - the Belarusian and Polish . On the territory of the Polish part of the forest is the Bialowieza National Park covers an area of 10,502 hectares. In the Belarusian part of the forest and adjacent lands created by State Environmental Institution "The National Park " Belovezhskaya Pushcha " , an area of 152,962 hectares. These lands are owned by the state and are designed to protect the environment . Astounding ancient forest with a variety of old trees, thousands of different species of plants and animals , rich historical and cultural heritage, which preserved artifacts of pagan times and reflected events , both ancient and modern history .
