Николаевская гарнизонная церковь
Николаевская гарнизонная церковь
The cathedral was built on the site of the church of the Augustinians and was the main temple from western edge of one of the most beautiful in Europe. After the transition of the western territories to Poland on the basis of the Riga treaty in 1921, the cathedral was converted into a Roman Catholic church of St. Casimir (and the city was renamed in Brest-on-Bug). In 1939, when the Soviet Brest was again in the temple was arranged by the club, which was partially destroyed in the first days of the war. Since 1994, restored to the donations of the faithful. Cathedral has two floors. At the bottom there is a temple in honor of St.. Martyr John the Warrior. Upper floor-church was consecrated in honor of St.. Nicholas.
