                  In 1911, according to legend, an icon of the Blessed Virgin appeared to two women in this fiery radiance. The Synodal Commission decided to establish a new monastery on this site and to introduce monastic life. But the Bolsheviks burned the monastery. In 2002, the construction of the nunnery began. Today the monastery in honor of the Athos icon of the Mother of God is a full-fledged monastery with 60 inhabitants, including 20 nuns, 20 nuns and about 20 novices.
