But there is an assumption that the first chestnut appeared at the time of Peter Mogyla. From 1969 to 1995, chestnut was even the central element of the emblem of Kiev. The bronze monument to the chestnut is set at the entrance to the building of the Kyiv city state administration on Khreshchatyk. A chestnut chalkboard with a leaf is also on another city symbol - the Kiev cake. LEGEND: "Rub me and the spring will be warm"
