              The design of the temple was developed in 1989. The construction of the temple began in 1990, but was then suspended. In 2004, Archpriest Sergiy Mikhalko was appointed rector of the church; construction of the church continued. Divine services began in 2009, while construction work continued. In 2015, St. Nicholas Church celebrated its first half anniversary. March 22, 2015 Metropolitan of Nikolaev and Ochakov Pitirim consecrated the bells for the temple. On September 19, 2015, Metropolitan Pitirim of Mykolayiv and Ochakov performed an all-night vigil in the St. Nicholas Church of the town of Kazanka.
