This area on the right bank of the Dnieper rivers between Konik and Vita Matveevskii and the Gulf, through which the 60-ies was poured causeway to the island of semiconductors. Received its name from the creek Zhukovka, which flows into the Dnieper River, and is popularly referred to as bugs. Once on the island were hunting grounds of the Kievan princes, part of the territory of the Lavra was used for pasture, somewhere Cossacks led by Bohdan Khmelnytsky defeated Lithuanians. Since 1999 most of the island is a sanctuary. Flora includes over 120 species of valuable plants. In the bays and the old bed of the Dnieper spawn about three dozen species of fish. These flies live birds and endangered (gray partridge, white-tailed sea eagle). Here, you can still see ermine, otter, beaver, stone marten, weasel, raccoon dog, a water vole, muskrat, rare insects and reptiles. The island contains a unique lake and Concha Zaspa, protect that began in 1893. There is also a shipyard, a military town, villas, beach areas and the entrance to a tunnel under the Dnieper River, which began to build before the war on Stalin's orders.
