The museum is located in Mukachevo Castle "Palanok", an architectural monument of the XIV-XVIII centuries. The expositions of the historical department of the museum are located in the halls of the Upper Castle. Here are exhibited rare objects of the Stone Age, Copper-Bronze Age, found during archaeological excavations in Transcarpathia. The ethnographic collection of the museum is diverse and interesting. The museum also has an art gallery: it exhibits paintings by prominent painters of Transcarpathia, as well as an extensive exhibition of contemporary paintings by Ukrainian, Hungarian and Polish masters of the brush. Exhibitions "Embroidery and folk clothing of Transcarpathia" and "Antique furniture" will be interesting for visitors. History buffs will be happy to see the exhibition "From the History of the Jewish Community", the chapel of Ilona Zrini (now a collection of Easter eggs) and her bedroom (today there are solemn registration ceremonies). In addition, visitors will not be indifferent to the memorial room of S. Petofi and the Museum of Bulgarian Culture. A "torture chamber" works for thrill seekers. There are a large number of souvenir shops and cafes.
