The tower was built as the belfry of the Assumption Church, served as defense towers in the siege and fire guards patrol the item. Built by the architect P. Barbone with P. Roman in the years 1572-1578 at the expense of a Greek merchant Kornyakta Constantine. The tower originally had three different stories in height and trystupinchate pavilion end. In 1672 during the Turkish siege tower was damaged by fire. It was rebuilt in 1695. At the time, were completed and another tier of contemporary baroque complete with four twisted obelisks in the corners. The building is made of stone, square in plan, used in the treatment of polychrome. Facades decorated with pilasters of the Tuscan order red arched pier. In its glory Kornyakta tower is among the best buildings in Europe of his time.
