The theater was born on March 6, 1945. The beginning of the activity was not easy: there was a lack of experience, the actors were just beginning to master the complex skill of driving dolls, the designs of dolls were primitive. The theater did not have its own premises. Initially, they worked in the Palace of Pioneers (now the Center for Children's Creativity), and from 1949 to 1954 - in the current People's House. The performances were shown on days when there was a free stage, and mostly worked on trips to the districts and villages of the region. Today, most of the creative staff of the theater are members of the National Union of Theater Actors of Ukraine.
