Lutsk castle - the symbol of the city of Lutsk, its main attraction and pride. Built in the 14 th century Lithuanian prince Lubart, who married a local princess, and adopted the Orthodox faith, he was selected as a princely residence. Nowadays, the castle has three names: Lutsk (most common), Upper (because there is also the Lower Castle, a crumbling) and Lubart castle (on behalf of the owner). Despite the fact that the history of the castle in Lutsk agreed to by 1340, its existence it began much earlier. Back in the 11 th century castle on the hill was built wooden fortress - the first castle, which existed for two centuries and which is then replaced by a more durable stone.
