The initiators of motion was a church and society Education. In villages there were missions with participation of clergy, a memorable cross was set with the proper inscription: A «Cross won over poganstvo, a drunkenness will win over Cross» or «On memory of the sainted sobriety» and by a date. Such crosses were saved in some villages on Ternopilli.
