In 1536 the Polish King Sigismund I gave my wife Kremenets Bonnet Sfortsi.Ona invited architects from his homeland and has significantly strengthened the castle. Built a secondary gate (Aristocratic) tower, cutting off the body of the upper tier and making the tent roof. Probably because these studies it was called the Great Tower. At the same time raised the other tower, and provided military picture on the walls. On the foundation of the tower from the city erected a house with cellars, the upper chamber, vaults and barn, as well as defensive upper tiers. This latter building has received the names of the Tower on a new home. The dimensions of the castle at this time were 70.6 h157 m. In 1648, during the Liberation War, one of the Cossack detachments Maxim Kryvonosa with Kremenetskiy townspeople took the castle by burning wooden buildings and destroying part of the fortifications. Since then, the castle was not restored. Documents XVII - XVIII centuries confirm the gradual decline and destruction of the castle. Since the end of XVIII century, he completely loses defensive role, but in the XIX century, destroyed several sections of defensive walls. By the time of our built of white limestone castle, preserved square in plan (10 x 10 m) bunk Gate tower with arched Gothic travel and part of the defense walls (thickness of 2,3 m, height 8.12 m), closed-prong Merloni and narrow slotted loopholes.
