From the 19th century to Lukianivska cemetery was a wooden temple VIC. Catherine. In the early 20th century near the church was built tomb-chapel over the grave of the mayor, a professor of the Kyiv Theological Academy Stephen Solsky. In 1913 the church was in Kateryninskomu fire and during the restoration works carried out in the Liturgy of the crypt-chapel. In 1920-1930-ies conducted on cemetery Lukianivska massive secret burial Lukyanovka shot in the NKVD prison. In 1962 were closed Lukyanivska Cemetery and Church of St.. Catherine. At the end of 1974 the temple was demolished and in its place put a symbolic war memorial. In 1993 at the cemetery Lukianivska registered community Sts. Novomchch. and ISP. Russian. Worship, is still held in the chapel crypt, Stefan Solsky, adapted for the temple.
