Baykove was created instead of closed at the beginning of XIX century cemeteries on Menagerie, and Kudryavtsi Askold grave. This cemetery was opened in 1834 on the initiative of General Baikov, the owner of these lands for burial of the Catholic and Lutheran belief in separate parts. Some here were later allowed to bury the Orthodox. Each part had its own chapel. There Baikove cemetery is located about twenty old crypt. Many of the crypt was built by famous architects: V. Gorodetsky, V. Nikolayev and others.
