                  Golden Gate - the oldest surviving fortifications of Kievan Rus' during the reign of Yaroslav the Wise, the main gate of ancient Kyiv. Crowned Gate Gate Church Blagoveschenya.V in 1648 at the main entrance to Kiev - Golden Gate - Kiev crowds greeted the hero of national liberation struggle of Ukrainian people Bogdan Khmelnitsky after the victory at Yellow Waters. In 1654, marked the reunification of Ukraine and Russia, through the Golden Gate in Kiev solemnly entered the Russian embassy. Golden Gate were the gateway to the city to the XVIII century, although over time more and more turned into ruins. In 1982, the Golden Gate have been completely renovated.
