                  Ivan Franko Theatre winery was founded in 1920. Headed his outstanding Ukrainian artist Ignat Petrovich Yura. Work first 3 years, held in difficult mobile conditions, gave a brilliant result: group reached a unanimous recognition of the creative power of the audience, the public. As a consequence, Frankivsk were invited to work permanently as State Theatre in Kharkov, which was then the capital of Ukraine. Kharkiv first season began with the fall of 1923. "Provincial" theater into a great capital, fixed team. 1926 Summer Theater. Franko decision of the government transferred the capital from Kharkiv to Kyiv and from Kyiv to Kharkiv traveling theater Berezil. In 1940 the theater received the academic title. Decree of President of Ukraine dated 11 October 1994, the theater granted national status. Since then, he called the National Academic Drama Theatre named after Ivan Franko.
