                  St. Andrew's Church is considered one of the finest works of architect BF Rastrelli. Construction of the church were built from 1747 to 1767. Engineer and organizer of the works was the architect I. F. Michurin. Empress Elizabeth herself laid the foundation stone in the church. The temple was built in Baroque style. Paintings made famous painters AP Antropov and I. Vishnyakov. 1825-1832 years and 1899-1900 years in the church was once repaired. During this century St. Andrew's Church as the whole city, experienced hard times: passed from one denomination to another, was closed. And since 1968 it opened as a museum. Since 1992 the church was on the restoration, and only November 18, 2000 again opened its doors widely.
