The mansion was commissioned architect. V. Nikolayev, former mayor of St. Petersburg Fedor Trepov. Construction ended in 1879 after buying a house with an adjoining area merchant, the 1 st guild Sugar Simcha Lieberman in 1896, Nikolayev, was invited to redesign the building. Was completed lateral, left wing, changed the facade. House scored a holistic complete view of a rich bourgeois mansion-style neo-Renaissance palace. All this still exists. In the courtyard have been preserved in some processed form cart house, stables, brick glacier, barns, drovenniki. Since 1953, there is the Writers' Union of Ukraine. Virtually all of the classics of Ukrainian literature, whose works were taught in school, there were, and not once in this building: Maxim Rila, Andrew Baby, Vladimir Sosyura, Michael Stelmach, Oles Gonchar and many others.
