Novyi market, founded in 1812. The first single-floor retail space market with an open colonnade, built on a draft of Franz Frapolli. In 1843 the architect Franz Boffo rebuilt them in the closed type. At the central market square stood five-domed Church of the Presentation of the Lord (demolished in 1930). New two-storied commercial galleries appeared in 1840 (arhitektor Ivan Kozlov). The main old trade buildings of the market (originally the meat, dairy and fish stalls) in the line of Torgovaja street arranged from Nezhinskaya to Sadovaya street. These monumental constructions built in 1896-1903, under a glass roof, mounted on metal farms, erected on the draft Arcadia Todorova and stood up to our days in its original form. In 1905, there opened the first winery station in Odessa - the predecessor of the Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking. The new market has survived several fires. During the last of them, in 1988, suffered a fish outbuilding. One wing of it restored by now and set aside for manufactured goods trade, on the other wing there were only metal slabs remained.
