The theater is located in a building of the early XX century, which is a monument of cultural heritage of Ukraine, known as the Sibiryakov Theater. The theater building was erected in 1903 as a private theater for the Russian drama troupe at the expense of the entrepreneur of the Odessa City Theater Alexander Ilyodorovich Sibiryakov. The opening of the theater took place on October 16, 1903, with a performance of Leo Tolstoy's play "Fruits of Enlightenment", which was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the great Russian artist. In 1995, the theater received the glorious name of a prominent Ukrainian actor, director, playwright, historian and theorist of the theater, theater teacher - People's Artist of the USSR Vasyl Vasylko, who aspired to the theater, led the team in different periods of its activities and staged about 20 performances. included in the "golden fund" of the Odessa Ukrainian scene.
