Memorial to honor the heroes of the military offensive "Bukrynskyy springboard" (1943), built on the site Chuchyn Old Ruthenian settlement, which is first mentioned in chronicles in the eleventh century. In 1943, during the operation to release the Kyiv Soviet troops twice tried to force the Dnieper in the area, but both times failed. Were not taken into account site conditions hampered offensive forces, especially Army tank. The losses in casualties were enormous. The most conservative estimates, killed 250 thousand soldiers of the Soviet army. This episode is one of the bloodiest in all of World War II. In 1985 the place was open grave memorial in commemoration of the death of Soviet soldiers who gave their lives to prevent large enemy forces from the main direction of attack on Kyiv. Composition memorial complex - one of the greatest war memorial complexes of Ukraine - Renovated 40 th anniversary of the war, consists of three sculptural groups, depicting scenes of battle of the Dnieper, the ceiling, with the names of the fallen, and the bowls eternal flame. Dominant memorial - raised on a high pedestal with the flag warrior figure (height 27 m), symbolizing victory over the enemy and the grief of the victims.
