The Palace of Culture was opened in March 1971, during the period of active development of Kremenchug, and became the second (after the KrAZ Palace of Culture) built in the city after the Second World War, the Palace of Culture. A section of the MYUD park, located next to the plant, was allocated for construction. The facade of the building was decorated with a mosaic panel, which was made by the monumental artist, laureate of state awards, honored art worker of the Ukrainian SSR, Zadorozhny Ivan-Valentin Feodosievich. The stained-glass window "Our song is our glory" in the City Palace of Culture also belongs to the authorship of Zadorozhny in Kremenchug. Until 1973, on the square in front of the building of the Palace of Culture, there was a monument to Lenin, which was later transferred to Sevastopol. A circus studio was opened in the palace, as well as numerous sections and circles. As of 2017, the building continues to fulfill its function.
