                  The museum was founded on Sept. 29, 1971 in the absence of a museum collection. The Museum opened an exhibition of the State Tretyakov Gallery. Six months to three floors of the museum exhibited exhibition of Russian art in XIV-XX. XX century. played a People's Artist of Ukraine Dmytro Gnatyuk.Vsego a museum of his collection has received nearly 60 outstanding works - K. Trutovsky, S. Vasilkovskaja, S. Svetoslavsky, K. Kryzhitsky, etc. In 2008 the Museum had 13,500 items - icons, paintings , sculpture, graphics, Ukrainian folk and decorative arts.
