Museum of Folk Art Slobozhanshchina was founded in 1991. His collection housed in a building constructed in the late XIX century by the architect Alexey Beketov. Once there was a Sunday school known Kharkov writer and social activist Christine Alchevsk. Nowadays it is one of the exhibition halls of the Kharkiv Art Museum, which is affiliated with the 1995 is the Museum of Folk Art Slobozhanshchina. In museum collections there are about two thousand exhibits reflecting the history and basic directions of the folk art of our region. The highlight of the collection was the collection of embroidery. Here are the towels and shirts mistresses of XIX century. But the work of contemporary craftswomen in no way inferior to rarities. A special delight is embroidered with "white on white." This ancient technique was well-deserved revive folk art masters of Ukraine I. Naidenov, R. and A. Yatsenko Kushnarenko.
