The VG Korolenko Literary Memorial Museum was opened in Zhytomyr on July 27, 1973, on the 120th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding writer, publicist and critic, whose creative legacy is a kind of chronicle of the entire era of the history of the Russian Empire. The museum is located in a memorial room - a house where the writer spent his childhood and early adolescence. The main fund of the museum is more than 10 thousand units of storage. The museum exposition is located in 7 halls, telling on a chronological principle about the life and activity of VG Korolenko, his family, circle of acquaintances, environment, cultural and historical life background. Among the exhibits of the VG Korolenko Literary Memorial Museum are memorial items of the Korolenko family, lifetime editions of works by VG Korolenko and contemporary writers, works of graphics, painting, sculpture, and applied art.
