                  The main cathedral of Simferopol in the name of St. Prince Alexander Nevsky was built from 1823 to 1829. The cathedral has served the city 100 years. St. Petersburg was designed by architect I. Charlemagne, supervised the construction of the provincial architect I. Kolodin. One of the relics of the cathedral was a cross, which according to legend, was sent here on behalf of Catherine II. In December 1922, the cathedral was closed and converted into a warehouse, and in September 1930 blew up. Is currently under restoration of the Christian shrines.
