The lighthouse was built in 1861 at the request of the society Evpatorian shipping and trade. He was seen far from the sea and on characteristics recorded in the sailing directions (height, range, frequency of blinking, color), the sailors knew that here is the city of Evpatoria. In 1970, close to the old tower was built by a modern concrete tower on a stone mold. The range of the main canopy has increased to 20 miles and back was 15 miles. Today Evpatoria lighthouse is not only the navigation structure and the beacon, part of the navigation system western Crimea, and local attractions.
