                  This mountain of one of three brothers, founders of Kyiv - cheek. Chronicle under the year 1151 mentions Shchekavytsya as a fortress in defense of Kyiv from the encroachments of Yuri Dolgoruky. In XV century Shchekavytsya and hills surrounding it were fenced. In 1658 he defended here Hetman Vyhovsky boyar Muscovites from Sheremetyevo. In 1663 Shchekavytsya was besieged Poles, and in the years 1667-1678 - Tatar fortress but survived and remained in Ukrainian. Around 1772 Shchekavytsya converted to a cemetery where the church was built Vsihsvyatsku (1782) and a stone bell tower (1809). At the cemetery buried A. Wedel, A. Melensky, V. Ikonnikov et al. Shchekavytsya saves even earlier memory of our ancestors. At the foot of the mountain placed days Slavic burial peredhrystyyanskoyi VIII - IX centuries. On the mountain, according to legend, was buried prophetic Oleg: "I buried him on the mount called Shchekavytsya. Steady same tomb it until today.
