                  Title: City Slaviansk. Status: city of regional significance in the Donetsk region. Location: 119 km from Donetsk Population: 117.1 thousand inhabitants Area: 58.9 km² Waterways: River Kozenyi Butt Year Established: 1676. Historical note: Beginning Slavyansk put a small fortress Top (Salt), planted in 1645 on the saline lakes. After 20 years there appeared the first saltworks plant, and with it grew and the number of settlers. Title Slavyansk Torah was given in 1784, and in 1797 he joined the county Izium Slobodsko-Ukrainian province, which in turn became the province of Kharkov in 1835. Year of formation of the famous Slavic resort on the lake RPMA is officially 1832. In 1869 there was a railway station "Slavic" along the route of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
