Title: City Vynnyky. Status: The city is under the Lviv city council, it is part of the Lychakiv district of Lviv. Location: The city is located 4 km east of Lviv. Area: 6.7 sq. km. Population: about 17,000 inhabitants. Reservoirs: r. Marun'ka, Vynnykivs'ke lake. The first mention in historical documents: 1368 (1352). Historical note: Vynnyky - one of the oldest settlements on the outskirts of Lviv. The city was founded as a settlement of winegrowers. Annually Vynnyky, "little Krakow", as the city was also called, delivered to the prince's table 50-100 barrels of wine and a huge amount of grapes. In 1603, the city received the Magdeburg Right. In its territory a mill, a fish pond and a tavern were placed at that time. Nearby the well-known (since 15 century) Glinyansky way laid. The castle in Vynnyky existed in princely times, but the first mention of a fortified manor of owners of settlement belongs to the 17 century.
