                  Title: City Dubliany. Status: The city of district level in Zhovkva district of Lviv region. Location: The city is located 12 km north-east of Lviv. Area: 4.95 sq. km. Population: about 11,000 inhabitants. River: Poltva. The first mention in historical documents: 1468. Historical background: The origin of the name of the city is associated with oak forests, which surrounded the settlement at that time. Previously, the village belonged to the Lviv district. Status of the city Dubliany received in 1978. In 19 c. the village Dubliany was owned by Galicia economic society. The presence of different types of soils in Dubliany, an interesting hydrological terrain, vegetation - it became the impetus for the creation in 1856 the High Agricultural School, which on January 1, 1878 came under full control of the regional government, that is, got a state status. In 1901 the school got the status of the academy. In our days this is the Lviv National Agrarian University. The city Dubliany is included in the register of historic settlements of Ukraine.
