                  Пам'ятник футбольному м'ячу
The very first opened on the 10th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine was a monument to the ball in the Alley of Sports Glory in the garden of T. Shevchenko. Polutorametrovy in diameter a soccer ball made of bronze weighing more than two tons was installed on a pedestal made of black granite with wings for illumination. I presented this gift to football fans of FC Metalist as a symbol of Kharkiv football. The location of the monument to the ball is very symbolic - it was here since the early 1950s that the football so-called "brehalovka" was located, where on the installed stands one could read the latest editions of "Soviet Sport", exchange news, discuss the played matches. The designer and chief artist of the city S. Dudenko, the architect V. Tishevsky, the sculptor O. Shevchuk and the technical director A. Popov worked on the project of the monument.
