Remains of fortifications on the banks of the Dnieper River in the village Tyaginka related to Lithuanian and Turkish times. Back in the XIV century. A large mound on the island was built by Lithuanian castle Tyagin with three round towers at the corners. In 1491, after the seizure of land from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Crimean Khan Mengli weights Tyagin reconstructed the fortress, which has become one of the focal points for the raids of the Tatars on Ukrainian soil. In 1492, under the walls of Tyagina Zaporozhye Cossacks, was captured and destroyed by the Turkish ship, which is considered to be the first mention of the Cossacks and the founding date of the Zaporozhye Cossacks. In 1673 march on the fortress Tyagin committed Ataman I. Sirko, and in 1693 Colonel S. Paly defeated here Tatar detachment. Finally, it was destroyed in the XVIII century. On-site settlement in 1992, a monument in honor of the 500 th anniversary of Ukrainian Cossacks "Cossack Glory" in the form of a column with the figure of St. Michael the Archangel. Fragments of the walls of the fortress remain on the shore near the old bridge.
