Title: Southern Bug River Location: The river originates in the Volyn-Podol'e Upland nearby village Kholodets Khmelnitskyi region and flows into the Dnipro-Buzhskyi estuary of the Black Sea. Takes the central and southern areas of the state (Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kirovograd and Mykolayiv) Distance: 806 km. Basin area: 63,700 square meters. km. Tributaries: 11 of right tributaries, 5 left tributaries Flora and Fauna: In the river are found more than 50 species of fish, most of which are carp and bream, crucian carp, ide, Podust, roach. There are also catfish, perch, pike, perch, bream, tench. Historical note: This is the third of the length (after the Dnipro and Dnestr) river in Ukraine, which runs exclusively the territory of Ukraine. Over the centuries the name of the river changed. The Turks called it the Ak-su, meaning "white water", the Greeks - or Hipanis Ipanis. The Slavs called River God (in the sense of "rich" or "river that flows through the rich, fertile land). On the river is popular tourism canoeing and fishing. On the banks also are the monuments of history and culture.
