Remains of fortifications of the castle can be found on the riverbank Rove, in what is now a city park. The wooden castle was built and named in honor of his native city of Bari Polish Queen Bona Sforza of the Italian kind in 1539, the author of the project was the famous French engineer Boplan. Castle on the banks of the river raised a high dam, was square in plan, with four bastions height of almost 6 m. In 1648, he was taken by the Cossack troops of Colonel M. Kryvonos, then some time served as the residence of B. Khmelnitskyi. In 1672, he was captured by the Turkish army. Finally destroyed in 1768 by Russian troops who had come to the aid of the Polish king in the fight against the Confederates, who chose his Bar outpost. Preserved only fragments over a river.
