                  Title: City Bar Status: The city of regional subordination. Administrative center Bar area. Location: Located on the river in a ditch 65 kilometers southwest of Vinnitsa. Population: 17,000 thousand people Area: 5.95 square meters. km. Waterways: River Riv Founded: 1401 Historical note: In 1401 the fortress was first mentioned Rove owned by A. Rovskyi, then C. Rei of Shumsk. After the Tatar raid in 1452 Rove came into the possession of the Russian commanders A. Odrovonzh. In 1537 the castle was bought and rebuilt the wife of the Polish King Sigismund I, Queen Bona Sfortsa. This city its current name of the Bar, probably comes from the Italian principality of Bari, where the Queen was born. In 1653 the castle was the residence of B. Khmelnitskyi. After the failure of Bar Confederation in 1748 and captured the city under the control of Russian troops lock lost value. In the second half of the 19 century in the socio-economic development of the city took drastic changes.
