National Forest Khortytsia - Research and recreational and educational institution providing protection of historical, cultural and natural sites, collects, studies, preserves and promotes the monuments connected with the history of Zaporizhzhya region and the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks. Created 18 September 1965 as the State Historical and Cultural Reserve. It includes: Island Khortytsya and adjacent islands and rocks Baida, Oak Razstebin, Three Stacks, Central, Twins, and the tract hopper on the right bank of the Dnieper, with the national and historical importance. Area of the reserve is 2359.34 hectares. The largest island of the Dnieper, which is now in the middle of the city of Zaporozhye.
