The museum was established on April 26, 1969, since 2012 it is located in an old building on the street. Central (formerly Count). The museum's collection includes 3,300 items. Unique are the works of the Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine, microminiaturist MG Maslyuk, photographs and postcards of Zhmerynka station with landscapes of the city of the early twentieth century. In the exposition halls of the museum the life of the people of Zhmerynka of the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century is presented. (furniture, musical instruments, personal belongings, photographs and family documents). There is an exhibition hall with exhibitions and presentations of works by artists, masters of folk art and a music room. The main activities of the museum are: research and exhibition work; mass - educational and exhibition work; stock work (accounting, preservation and restoration); methodical, advertising - information work.
