                  Populating the edge came from central Russia, the Tsarist government to attract foreign settlers, especially Germans from Bagema, Bavaria. And on the outskirts of Berdyansk appeared Slobodka German - it was founded by German colonists. Lutheran community in Berdyansk, was founded in 1865. Later, in 1901, construction began on the Lutheran church Erlezerkirhe (Kirch's Christ the Savior) and 26 September 1903 it was consecrated. The church existed until the mid 30-ies of the twentieth century, and later the Soviet authorities to close it. In 1941, in connection with the entry of the USSR into the war, all persons of German nationality (the basis of the parish) were evicted from the residence. Thus, the community has been artificially removed. In 1997, the revival of the Lutheran community in Berdyansk. July 1, 2007 after a small cosmetic repair of the building community solemnly entered the church, and after 70 years in the temple worship was restored.
