Name: City Druzhkovka. Status: city of regional significance in the Donetsk region. Location: about 75 km from Donetsk. Population: about 64.6 thousand people. Area: 46 km². Ponds located at the confluence of Crooked Butt Butt and state (Seversky Donets basin). Year Established: 1781. Background: The city began with the camp at the station Druzhkovka Kursk-Kharkov-Azov railway that emerged in the 70s of XIX century. By the beginning of the XX century, it operated plants: iron-and steelmaking, mechanical, as well as the sugar factory. In 1893, the Donetsk railway company and the steel industry, founded by the French, begins to build Toretsky Steel Works, later converted to Druzhkovsky engineering plant. In 1938 Druzhkovka received city status. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War Machine-Building Plant was evacuated to the Urals (Aleksandrovsk), and the hardware plant - in the Kuzbass. October 22, 1941 the Nazis seized Druzhkovka. Druzhkovka released September 6, 1943. After World War II built plant materials, plant gas appliances, porcelain factory, mine, built a road bridge over the River Crooked Butt.
