                  Title: Lityn village Position: Administrative center of the Litin village community of Vinnytsia district of Vinnytsia region. Location: Located on the river Zgar 30 km northwest of Vinnytsia. Population: 7000 thousand people Area: 6.79 sq. km. km. Waterways: River Zgar, river Shmygavka Founded: 1431 Background: For the first time Lityn mentioned in 1431 in a document from the Lithuanian Grand Duke Svydrygailo, when these lands became the property of Bratslav gentleman Kmit. On the island, formed and its tributary Zgar Shmygavka was built Lityn castle (not preserved). As a royal town in 1578 Lityn received the Magdeburg Right. In 1648 the castle was captured Cossack detachments Krivonos M., Hetman Khmelnitskyi, took the ambassadors of the Tatar khan.
